Brief introduction to Research Resource Identifiers (RRIDs), persistent and unique identifiers for referencing a research resource.

Topics covered in this lesson

Research Resource Identifiers (RRIDs) are designed to help researchers sufficiently cite the key resources used to produce the scientific findings reported in the biomedical literature. RRIDs meet 3 criteria, they are machine readable, free to generate and access, and consistent across publishers and journals. In addition to facilitating reproducibility and reuse, the inclusion of RRID citations in the literature allows resource providers, funders, and others to better track usage and impact.
