Pushing the boundaries of science requires nuanced, critical ethical positions. In recognition of the central role that ethics has to play in the success of the CONP, the Ethics and Governance Committee (EGC) aims to ensure the responsible, open sharing of neuroscience data. The committee’s work is underpinned by three overarching goals: protecting participant autonomy, promoting trust, and realizing the human right to benefit from scientific advancement. To this end, the EGC has crafted policies and guidance for the Canadian neuroscience and CONP communities to best accelerate neuroscience discovery whilst adhering to open science best practices.
This Study Track collects this practical guidance as well as those of international colleagues who are elaborating similar policies in different jurisdictions around the world.
